This month, tax and student allowance rules shift, credit hardship checks change, mass-arrival visa requirements tighten, and registered offenders must report more travel details.
- Tax rules change in stages — Tax changes include an independent-earner tax credit and further changes starting between April 2024 and April 2030. Starts 1 Jul 2024
- Student allowance income rules adjusted — The student allowance deduction for parental income stays at 25% after personal tax thresholds change. Starts 31 Jul 2024
