October 2024 update
Protected people can end marriages or civil unions, driver licensing rules change, BNPL fees gain exemptions, and school attendance rules start on 1 January 2025.
- Family violence adds a dissolution ground — People protected by a protection order get an additional ground to apply to dissolve a marriage or civil union. Starts 17 Oct 2025
- Driver licensing rules change — The driver licensing rules are changed from 1 November. Starts 1 Nov 2024
- BNPL fees get special exemptions — Buy now, pay later contracts are exempt from two rules about unreasonable credit and default fees. Starts 1 Nov 2024
