This month, insurance rules change; some people gain citizenship pathways; FamilyBoost deadlines extend; and rules change for educators, birth records, assistance dogs and buildings.
- Insurance law is replaced and updated — Insurance laws are repealed and replaced with updated rules for insurance contracts. Starts Date to be set
- Some people gain a citizenship pathway — Some people covered by the Western Samoa citizenship law can apply for a special form of New Zealand citizenship. Starts 26 Nov 2024
- Some FamilyBoost filing dates are extended — Some parents with late tax returns get until 31 March 2025 to apply for a FamilyBoost refund. Starts 27 Nov 2024
- Home-based educators face qualification requirements — All home-based educators must qualify or enrol in a recognised qualification course within six months. Starts 1 Jan 2025
