- The Arms Regulator may access information from Police records to carry out its functions.
- The Arms Regulator may access certain information from transport, vehicle-register, and Corrections records.
Who's affected
The Arms Regulator, Police, the New Zealand Transport Agency, the Registrar of Motor Vehicles, the Department of Corrections, and people whose information is held in those records may be affected.
When
The changes take effect on 23 September 2026.
